If this date is not accurately known or if the woman has irregular periods, it can affect the accuracy of the due date calculation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6><strong>What does the research say?<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p><em>Dr Sara Wickham goes deeper into the research behind due dates; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarawickham.com\/articles-2\/why-your-estimated-due-date-might-need-a-rethink\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a> to read.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2060It is nice to know an estimated time when your baby will arrive in this world however, due dates also put a lot of pressure on the birthing mother.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You have the pressure of friends and family asking if you have had the baby yet. \u2060<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pressure from your healthcare providers pushing an induction on you.\u2060<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2060Due dates were first calculated by Netherlands professor Hermann Boerhaave in the 1700s.
