I have been meaning to email to say thank you for your online program and to give a bit of feedback on my birth experience 6 weeks ago.<\/p>\n

I only signed up to the Hypnobubs program at 36 weeks after being encouraged by a friend to do so, as I was really hoping for a more positive labour and birth experience for my second child. Although I didn\u2019t have a lot of time to practice, my husband and I were able to view all the learning materials and utilise some of the skills.<\/p>\n

My contractions began regularly at 5.30 am and I listened to the positive affirmations track and my husband assisted with light touch until I went to the hospital around 10 am. At 11.30 am I was checked and was \u2018only\u2019 2cm dilated. I felt the Hypnobubs course allowed me to stay focused and relaxed despite wishing I was \u2018further along\u2019!\"Pregnant<\/p>\n

Things intensified and progressed quite quickly after this. I was able to labour upright, with TENS on and breathing through the surges (still with the positive affirmations playing). The final moments were a bit frantic! I don\u2019t think the midwives realised I had progressed to almost fully dilated and my baby girl was born at 2 pm – even the obstetrician didn\u2019t make it in time.<\/p>\n

I was so pleased and excited to have achieved a natural birth. I think the realisation set in when I saw my duration of active labour listed as 2hr 34mins on my discharge summary. Very different from my 21 hour, induced, forceps delivery of my first child!<\/p>\n
